The Varna Volunteer Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire and rescue agency providing 911 response to the Varna and Ellis Hollow communities, with mutual aid support to surrounding areas. Our membership includes students, faculty, and local residents. We support growth through weekly training, state-certification, and a strong community culture.
Founded in 1953 after a fire destroyed the Varna Community Center, the VVFC has served the community for over 70 years. In 2023, we were honored as the Tompkins County Fire Department of the Year by the Department of Emergency Response.
