Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations 

In BEFO, firefighters gain the foundational knowledge necessary exterior fire operations. This training covers content such as fire behavior, hose line advancement, water supply, ladder operations, search and rescue techniques, HAZMAT operations, and fireground safety. This program prepares recruits to operate effectively on the fire scene in emergency response situations.

Interior Firefighting Operations

In IFO, our firefighters build on their skills from BEFO and learn about safely and effectively entering burning structures. Skills include advanced fire behavior, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) use, search and rescue, ventilation, forcible entry, fire suppression techniques, and firefighter survival. 

Emergency Medical Technician - Basic

Our EMT-Bs obtain essential training for pre-hospital emergency environments. In this course, they learn patient assessment, airway management, CPR, trauma care, various medical emergencies, and the use of life-saving equipment. 

Water Rescue

In both Swift Water Rescue and Surface Water Rescue, students learn how to safely navigate and perform rescues in fast-moving and open water environments. Training covers water dynamics, self-rescue techniques, rope systems, boat operations, victim extrication, and flood response strategies. Rescuers learn to assess hazards, utilize specialized equipment, and execute swift, effective rescues while prioritizing safety in high-risk water conditions.

Ice/Cold Water Rescue

Ice Water Rescue training equips our responders with the skills needed to safely perform rescues in frozen and cold water environments. Training includes ice assessment, self-rescue techniques, victim retrieval, specialized rescue equipment use, and hypothermia management. Responders learn to navigate unstable ice conditions, work in extreme temperatures, and execute rapid, effective rescues.

Rescue Technician - Basic

The Rescue Technician - Basic course provides foundational training in technical rescue operations. Participants learn essential skills in rope rescue, confined space entry, vehicle extrication, structural collapse, and patient packaging

Rope Rescue Technician

Rope Rescue Technician training prepares responders to perform high-angle and low-angle rescues using advanced rope systems. Training covers rope rigging, mechanical advantage systems, belay techniques, rappelling, ascending, patient packaging, and high-point anchor systems.

Firefighter Assist and Search Team/Rapid Intervention Crew

FAST/RIC training prepares firefighters to conduct rapid intervention operations for rescuing downed or trapped firefighters. This course covers firefighter survival techniques, self-rescue, air management, thermal imaging, forcible entry, search and extrication strategies, and mayday procedures.
