2004 NYS Scholarship Requirements:
VVFC essay
requirements
Update: VVFC responded to 297
calls during 2005. That represents many hours of work at fires,
emergency medical situations, motor vehicle collisions, and other
emergencies at any hour of the day or night. In addition, there were
added hours of training, equipment and facilities maintenance,
meetings, and planning to be ready to respond to the emergency
incidents of our friends and neighbors in the Varna Volunteer Fire
district. What could you do with the amount of time you might have
to offer to your community? Stop by on a Thursday evening or ask one
of your member neighbors.
It is the mission of the Varna
Volunteer Fire Company to provide fire and emergency medical
services to the residents of the Varna fire protection district. We
are committed to maintaining state of the art equipment, providing
high quality training for our members, and responding rapidly to
emergencies in our community. We have about 25 active "unpaid
professional" members, who are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week. Our responses are now over 200 emergency calls per year.
If you live or work in or near
the Varna or Ellis Hollow area, we invite you to consider becoming a
member. Either talk with a member or stop by the station any
Thursday evening between 6:30 and 7:30.
Please choose one of the options
above or below to learn more about a particular part of our
department, how you can join us, and if you'd like, sign our guest
