(Updated April 21, 1998)

Note: Only tuition is reimbursed. Accommodations, meals, and travel expenses remain the responsibility of the student.

Courses that duplicate the courses offered by the NYS-OFPC are not pre-approved. (NYSAFC/IAFC courses often carry a higher cost than Academy courses.)

Courses offered by industry or outside (usually for profit) agencies are not pre-approved.

  3. CPR courses (original or recertification) offered by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  4. NYS Certified First Responder or American Red Cross Advanced First Aid (original or recertification).

  5. New York State EMT-Basic, Intermediate, Advanced (original or recertification) offered through the Dept. of Health (for example, by TC3) or the Dept. of State (for example, by OFPC).
